Website: https://peopledhanbad.com

1. Purpose of the Campaign

PeopleDhanbad Youth Icons is a community recognition initiative intended to discover, recognise and celebrate inspiring individuals connected with Dhanbad for their achievements, talent, leadership, creativity, professional excellence or positive contribution to society.

The campaign is intended to celebrate merit, effort and positive impact. It is not a political endorsement, a popularity-only competition or a guarantee of employment, financial reward or any other benefit.

2. Eligibility Criteria
  1. Nominees must be between 18 and 40 years of age, inclusive, as of the eligibility date specified by PeopleDhanbad for the relevant campaign.
  2. Nominees must have a genuine and demonstrable connection with Dhanbad, Jharkhand, through residence, education, work, business, community service or another meaningful association.
  3. Nominees may be considered across fields including education, sports, arts, culture, entrepreneurship, innovation, social service, professional achievement and community leadership.
  4. Nominees must provide accurate, complete and verifiable information about their identity, achievements and connection with Dhanbad.
  5. PeopleDhanbad may request reasonable supporting documents, references, public records or other evidence to verify eligibility and achievements.
  6. Nominees who fail to meet the eligibility requirements or cannot provide reasonably requested verification may be excluded.
3. Nominations
  1. Nominations must be submitted through the official nomination channel within the announced nomination period.
  2. Nominations are free of charge. No person is authorised to collect money in exchange for a nomination, shortlist position, vote or award.
  3. Self-nominations and nominations by other individuals are permitted, subject to the nominee's consent and these rules.
  4. A person may be nominated only once per category using the verification method specified by PeopleDhanbad. Duplicate or suspicious submissions may be removed.
  5. The nominator is responsible for the accuracy of the information submitted and must not knowingly provide false, misleading, defamatory or unauthorised personal information.
  6. Submitting a nomination does not guarantee acceptance, shortlisting, publication, finalist status or selection as a winner.
  7. PeopleDhanbad may close, extend or adjust the nomination period when reasonably necessary, with an announcement through its official channels where practicable.
4. Shortlisting and Verification
  1. PeopleDhanbad will review nominations for eligibility, authenticity, relevance and the quality of supporting information.
  2. The organisers may shortlist candidates based on documented achievements, merit, impact, originality, leadership and relevance to the purpose of the campaign.
  3. The organisers may seek clarification or additional evidence before finalising the shortlist.
  4. Incomplete, unverifiable, fraudulent, duplicate or otherwise ineligible nominations may be rejected.
  5. The number of finalists in each category may be determined by PeopleDhanbad according to the number and quality of eligible nominations. Any announced shortlist limits will apply to that campaign.
  6. Only candidates approved by PeopleDhanbad will be displayed on the official voting page.
5. Winner Selection: 40% Public Votes and 60% Jury Assessment

The final result will be determined using the following weighting:

  • Public voting: 40%
  • Jury assessment: 60%
A. Public voting — 40%

Public votes will contribute 40% of the final score. Only votes recorded through the official voting system during the announced voting period will be considered.

PeopleDhanbad may apply reasonable verification and anti-fraud measures, including account, mobile number, email, CAPTCHA, device or other technical checks, where appropriate.

Votes generated through bots, automated scripts, fake accounts, duplicate submissions, purchased engagement, manipulation, coercion or other prohibited methods may be invalidated. PeopleDhanbad may investigate suspicious voting patterns and exclude affected votes or candidates where the evidence reasonably supports such action.

B. Jury assessment — 60%

The jury will assess finalists against the published criteria, which may include:

  • Achievements and excellence: 25% of the jury score.
  • Positive impact and contribution: 25% of the jury score.
  • Leadership, initiative and integrity: 20% of the jury score.
  • Originality, perseverance and inspiration: 15% of the jury score.
  • Connection with Dhanbad and relevance to the award: 15% of the jury score.

The jury will apply these criteria in a reasonable and consistent manner, taking account of the nominee's field, opportunities, circumstances and supporting evidence.

Jury decisions will be recorded internally. PeopleDhanbad may replace a jury member in the event of a conflict of interest, unavailability or other reasonable cause.

C. Calculation of the final score

The final score will be calculated as follows:

Final score = (Public vote score × 40%) + (Jury score × 60%)

Public vote scores will be normalised to a common scale before being combined with the jury score. The method used to convert vote totals into scores will be established before voting opens and applied consistently to all finalists in the relevant category.

PeopleDhanbad may investigate suspected manipulation before confirming the results. Where scores are tied, the jury score will be used as the primary tie-breaker, followed by the jury's documented assessment of positive impact and contribution.

6. Organiser's Rights and Disqualification

PeopleDhanbad reserves the right, acting reasonably and in good faith, to reject a nomination, remove a finalist, invalidate votes or disqualify a candidate where there are reasonable grounds to believe that:

  1. The candidate does not satisfy the published eligibility criteria.
  2. Information, evidence or declarations submitted are materially false, misleading, forged or fraudulent.
  3. The nomination or voting process has been manipulated, including through automated voting, impersonation, bribery, vote purchasing, threats or coercion.
  4. The candidate or nominator has engaged in harassment, threats, abuse, unlawful conduct or conduct intended to undermine the integrity of the campaign.
  5. The candidate or nominator has infringed another person's rights, including privacy, copyright or other applicable legal rights.
  6. The candidate has materially breached these rules or has refused reasonable verification required to establish eligibility.
  7. A material conflict of interest, safety concern or legal restriction makes continued participation inappropriate.

Where reasonably practicable, PeopleDhanbad will document the basis for a material disqualification and may seek clarification from the affected candidate before making a final decision. Immediate action may be taken where necessary to protect the campaign, participants, public or voting system.

PeopleDhanbad's decisions on eligibility, vote validity and application of these rules will be final for the purposes of administering the campaign, subject to applicable law.

7. Withdrawal, Postponement and Changes

PeopleDhanbad reserves the right to suspend, postpone, modify or cancel the campaign, voting or any part of the selection process if reasonably necessary because of circumstances including technical failures, cybersecurity incidents, suspected fraud, legal or regulatory requirements, safety concerns, force majeure or other circumstances beyond the organiser's reasonable control.

Where practicable, material changes will be communicated through the official PeopleDhanbad website or social media channels. PeopleDhanbad will endeavour to act fairly and preserve the integrity of the campaign when making such changes.

No change will be used to manipulate results in favour of a particular candidate. Where a material change affects the selection method, PeopleDhanbad will explain the revised process before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.

8. Publicity, Photographs and Content
  1. By submitting a nomination, the nominator confirms that they have the authority to provide the submitted information and have obtained the nominee's permission where required.
  2. PeopleDhanbad may contact nominees to verify information and request consent for publication of their name, photograph, achievements and approved profile.
  3. Personal contact details, private documents and verification materials will not be published merely because a nomination has been submitted.
  4. Publication of a nominee's photograph, story or other identifying material will be subject to the consent obtained and applicable law.
  5. Nominees retain ownership of their original content. They grant PeopleDhanbad only the permissions expressly agreed for reviewing, displaying and promoting the campaign and nominee profile.
  6. Nominees may be asked for separate consent for extended promotional use, interviews, video appearances or other uses beyond the initial campaign profile.
9. Privacy and Data Protection

Personal information will be collected and used for purposes such as processing nominations, verifying eligibility, administering voting, communicating with participants, preventing fraud and publishing approved profiles.

PeopleDhanbad will handle personal information in accordance with its published Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law. Access to non-public nomination information will be limited to authorised persons who need it for campaign administration or verification.

Participants should not submit sensitive personal information or identity documents unless specifically requested through an appropriate and secure process. Information will be retained only as reasonably necessary for campaign administration, legal compliance and legitimate record-keeping purposes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, PeopleDhanbad will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including internet or telecommunications failures, service interruptions, unauthorised third-party activity, delayed submissions, or technical problems affecting access to the website or voting system.

PeopleDhanbad does not guarantee uninterrupted website availability, a particular level of public participation, a particular outcome or any specific benefit from participating in the campaign.

Nothing in these rules excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11. Independent Judgement and Conflicts of Interest

Participants must not offer money, gifts, favours or other inducements to influence the jury, organisers or voting process.

Jury members and campaign personnel must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and may be excluded from assessing a candidate where impartiality could reasonably be questioned.

The award is based on the published selection process. Payment, sponsorship, personal relationships or promotional activity will not guarantee nomination acceptance, finalist status or a winning position.

12. No Affiliation or Endorsement

Unless expressly stated otherwise, PeopleDhanbad Youth Icons is an independent community recognition initiative. References to educational institutions, employers, businesses, organisations or other third parties do not imply their sponsorship, approval or endorsement.

13. Acceptance of Rules

Submitting a nomination or participating in the voting process constitutes acceptance of these rules, the published eligibility requirements and the applicable Privacy Policy.

PeopleDhanbad may publish reasonable clarifications needed to administer the campaign, provided they are consistent with applicable law and any material changes are communicated where practicable.

14. Governing Law and Contact

These rules will be governed by the applicable laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts or authorities having jurisdiction under applicable law.
